El VanDyne is a writer and creative changemaker living in Washington, D.C. their work centers personal evolution + systems change through the lenses of creativity + connection building. In 2025, El expanded their offerings to proofreading and copyediting services for authors and small businesses. El's community work includes founding the now-retired CollabCreate DC, an events + social media hub for creatives in the District; writing + consulting for Femme Fatale DC and other creative small businesses; and supporting DC mutual aid organizations.

A past life, happily abandoned, includes work improving systems in corporate construction and the military. Admittedly though, their favorite job ever was working for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in its final season.

When they're not cooking or thinking about eating, you can find El making weird art from thrift store finds, hosting gatherings for creatives, snuggling the goodest dog in the world, tackling home DIY projects, and traveling to concerts with their partner.
